Spankox has been said to be variously a “secret agent, Italian stallion, fashion model, limo driver, photographer, painter and poet”. Despite the big fuss that constantly ensues over this internationally man of mystery, it turns out that Spankox is simply an assumed identity of Agostino Carollo, one of the most successful Italian DJs and producers.
The legendary Ministry of Sound chose Spankox‘s To The Club as anthem for their best nights in London‘s nightclub and included the song in practically all their compilations released between 2004 and 2006. To The Club became a smash hit worldwide, achieving the rare status of “club classic“ of the international dance and house scene.
The song was entirely written and produced by the man behind the Spankox moniker, Agostino Carollo, also know for his creations under other monikers like Eyes Cream (Fly Away was a #1 Billboard hit in the USA), Ago (Put On Your Red Shoes and Tell Me Where You Are) and X-Treme (That’s The Way, Love Song). In 2008 and 2009 the name of Spankox spread from the club scene to the rock and pop world, because his official remix of Elvis Presley‘s Baby Let‘s Play House, released by SonyBMG, reached the top of the international record sales charts.
His track “So True”, release by Blanco Y Negro has recently become one of the floorifillers and of the most airplayed in Spain. “You Like Torero”, Spankox’s newest track, is today one of the hottest tracks in Spain and in several other countries. The track features the sexy vocals of the beautiful Patrizia D’Addario, the famous Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s hot date.
Spankox is today requested as DJ all over the world and his fine house sets are not only musically spot on but take the audience to an unforgettable journey. He’s recently played his music in some of the best clubs on the planet such as: Amnesia (Ibiza), Felix (Berlin, Germany), Escape (Amsterdam, Holland), Lounge Gabanna (Tenerife, Spain), Nikki Beach (Portimao, Purtugal), Neo (Moscow), The Zoo (Ibiza, Spain), Pachuka (Venice, Italy), Crobar (Miami, USA), Compound (Atlanta, USA), The Docks (Toronto, Canada), Voodoo (Las Vegas)... and many others. Since last year Spankox holds the summer Saturday residency at the famous club BCM in Mallorca (Spain), where some of the best DJs in the world, including David Guetta, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Carl Cox and Judge Jules also appear weekly.
