International Networking Day: Bridging Barcelona and Flanders in Immersive Tech and AI

Connecting Innovation: Barcelona XRLAB and Blanco y Negro Music Host Belgian Delegation from Voka Oost-Vlaanderen

This morning, BARCELONA XRLAB and Blanco y Negro Music had the honor of hosting a major international networking and technology showcase event, welcoming a delegation of 35 Belgian companies organized by Voka Oost-Vlaanderen in partnership with Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT).

Following previous editions in key European hubs like Lisbon, Dublin, and Berlin, Voka selected Barcelona for this year’s mission to explore the city’s rapidly growing immersive technology, extended reality (XR), and artificial intelligence ecosystems.

A Morning of Collaborative Innovation & Technology Showcases

The event brought together founders, executives, creators, and innovators from Barcelona’s local audiovisual and tech sectors alongside international guests for an intensive morning focused on cross-border collaboration and emerging creative technologies.

The program featured:

  • Ecosystem Insights & Case Studies: Industry leaders provided an overview of Barcelona’s dynamic immersive scene, highlighting how local creative hubs are merging cutting-edge technology with world-class entertainment and cultural content.

  • Hands-on Demos: Attendees experienced immersive technology firsthand, participating in small-group live demonstrations of virtual reality (VR), spatial computing, and AI-driven content generation platforms.

  • Local Pitches: Promising local tech companies and startups—including Trailab—presented their innovative solutions directly to the visiting delegation, opening doors for international partnerships and European growth.

  • Networking & Synergies: The session concluded with dedicated networking over coffee, allowing Belgian and Catalan businesses to exchange ideas, explore joint projects, and strengthen commercial ties between both regions.

Building International Bridges for Creative Industries

This initiative reflects Blanco y Negro Music’s ongoing commitment to driving innovation within the music, entertainment, and immersive content landscapes. By collaborating with local institutional partners such as BARCELONA XRLAB (the creative industry hub backed by the Barcelona City Council) and the Clúster Audiovisual de Catalunya, events like this reinforce Barcelona’s position as a premier European landmark for digital culture and technological transformation.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Voka Oost-Vlaanderen, FIT, Layers of Reality, all participating local companies, and the speakers and organizers who made this gathering a resounding success.

We look forward to developing the new synergies sparked today and continuing to build strong international bridges across the immersive and creative sectors.
