Ostend, July 2, 2025 – Today marked the official opening of Fairy Tales, the brand-new VR expo that transforms Kursaal Oostende into a magical fairy tale universe for young and old alike this summer. The exhibition opened its doors to the general public last weekend, but was festively launched today in the presence of Tourism Alderman, actress Danni Heylen, who voices the grandmother character in the experience, and pop star CAMILLE. The first visitors were unanimously positive - and the verdict is clear: Fairy Tales is set to become the family outing of the summer by the sea.

Fairy Tales is a one-of-a-kind Virtual Reality experience for both children and adults, immersing visitors in the enchanting world of the most beloved fairy tales. Until August 31, visitors can experience a unique family experience every day at Kursaal Oostende with the help of a VR headset, immersing young and old alike in a world full of fantasy and nostalgia.

The festive opening event was attended by several well-known guests, including Danni Heylen, who lends her voice to the storytelling grandmother and gently guides visitors with her warm voice through the magical world of Fairy Tales.

“It’s pure magic – you feel like reliving your childhood again. As an adult, it’s just as exciting and meaningful. You really have to experience this with your family – and more than once, because there’s so much to take in!” – Danni Heylen 

Also present was CAMILLE, who will headline her own show CIRCUS CAMILLE for three weeks this summer  in Ostend – a spectacular theatrical experience full of music, magic and wonder. Her presence underscored Ostend’s status as the cultural hotspot by the sea this summer, where imagination and experience go hand in hand.

This interactive exhibition brings fairy tales loved by all generations—from today's children to their parents and grandparents—to life in an amazing way. Visitors are not just spectators, but are able to step into the story and become the protagonists themselves. With the help of a VR headset, they can actively participate in the adventure: From floating through the air on Aladdin's magic carpet, meeting Pinocchio in the belly of a whale, to swimming alongside The Little Mermaid, bravely facing a dragon, and so much more! 

Fairy Tales is a collaboration between Blanco y Negro Music – one of Spain’s leading entertainment companies – and Univrse, a pioneer in VR experiences. The production is organized locally by Kursaal Oostende in collaboration with Gracia Live and Up Next.
